A Beginner’s Guide to Collecting: Pokémon TCG Part 2, Trading with other Collectors

Welcome back, Collectors!

Are you after an elusive card that you know will be available at a local swap-meet? Here at Game Collectors we have you sorted with our guide to trading with other collectors to make sure you get the best deal for you!

The Trading Ratio

We recommend if you’re trading with other collectors to stick with a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio. Strictly sticking to this ration will reduce the chances or trading away more cards than required (that last thing you want is an incomplete set!).

Duplicates/Doubles

Trade your duplicates first! Try to offer up your duplicates first in a trade, otherwise you may be stuck with an incomplete set.

Trade-Planning

Don’t be afraid to create a trading game-plan. This can be done by trading a couple of Common cards for an Uncommon card which, down the line, can be traded for a Rare card (it’s like a game of chess, only better!).

We hope these quick trading tips help you in your collecting journey to get your perfect sets (please tell us what your favourite set is! We’d love to feature your stories in our Collector of the month series coming soon!).

Happy Collecting!
